Get connected.

1

Install both apps

Get Remote Desktop on your iPhone or iPad and install the free host on your Mac or Windows PC.

Go to Downloads
2

Use the same Apple Account

Sign in on both devices with the same Apple Account so they can discover one another securely.

3

Approve host permissions

On Mac, allow Screen Recording and Accessibility when prompted. Windows setup is handled by the installer.

My computer does not appear.

Confirm the host app is open, both devices use the same Apple Account, and both devices are online. If a direct connection cannot be established, try the same Wi-Fi network.

What is the pairing code for?

It is a temporary fallback for the rare case when automatic discovery fails. Use the six-digit code shown in the host app only when needed.

What does the Mac host need access to?

Screen Recording lets the host show your display. Accessibility lets it respond to taps, pointer movement, and keyboard input. You can review both in System Settings → Privacy & Security.

Is my screen sent through Threadmark servers?

No. Media and controls use a direct peer-to-peer connection between your devices. Threadmark does not receive or store your screen, audio, or input.

Which operating systems are supported?

The iPhone and iPad client requires iOS or iPadOS 17 or later. The host supports macOS 12.3 or later and Windows 10 or later. Android support is in development.
