Install both apps

Get Remote Desktop on your iPhone or iPad and install the free host on your Mac or Windows PC.

Use the same Apple Account

Your signed-in devices use private iCloud discovery to find one another.

Approve host permissions

On Mac, allow Screen Recording and Accessibility. Windows permissions are handled by the installer.

Common questions.

My computer does not appear.

Confirm the host app is open, both devices use the same Apple Account, and both devices are online. Restart the host after approving permissions.

The screen is black on Mac.

Open System Settings → Privacy & Security → Screen Recording and enable Threadmark Host. Quit and reopen the host afterward.

Keyboard or pointer input does not work.

On Mac, enable Threadmark Host under Privacy & Security → Accessibility. On Windows, restart the host after installation.

Can Threadmark see my session?

No. Video, audio, and input travel directly between your own devices. See the Remote Desktop privacy page for details.
